Business Development Manager

Job Description:

To recruit, develop and retain reseller customers within a specific geographical area in order to grow sales of Pragma products and services, in line with or ahead of revenue and gross margin targets.  Act as the business and product champion, providing effective and proactive support to all areas of a reseller customer's business.  Continually seeking opportunities to expand sales, both within existing reseller accounts as well as developing new reseller business.

Responsibilities:

New reseller recruitment

  1. Identify potential new resellers based on agreed profile and location
  2. Generate appointments with reseller principals/decision makers
  3. Present Pragma and portfolio proposition and obtain commitment
  4. Negotiate pricing and commercial terms within set parameters
  5.  Agree detailed training and on boarding plan to ensure new reseller is successfully activated
  6. Deliver sales and product training to sales and pre-sales staff
  7. Provide sales and demonstration support for new resellers, and develop capability within resellers to achieve self sufficiency

Developing existing accounts

  1. Schedule regular visits to maintain and build relationships as well as mindshare for Pragma products and services
  2. Ensure all sales people within a reseller are trained and motivated to sell Pragma products and services
  3. Act as key point of contact and escalation for all sales, commercial and order related queries, ensuring ownership and satisfactory resolution
  4. Agree business development plans with key accounts and ensure on-going sales and marketing activity is in place and effective
  5. Introduce new products and services as appropriate and drive sales activity to generate results
  6. Manage all areas of the commercial relationship to ensure healthy relationships are maintained and business growth achieved in line with agreed plans and targets

 Products and Services

  1. Must develop expert knowledge of Pragma products and services and be able to present, demonstrate and deliver sales training to a high standard
  2. Identify gaps in current products and services and feedback to colleagues and suppliers in order that on-going development addresses our customers' needs
  3. Attend and support exhibitions and events as required

Requirements:

  • Effective sales and closing skills, achieve revenue and GM targets
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to prepare and deliver effective presentations
  • Strong product knowledge of IP-PBX, IT and telecommunications products and services
  • Sound understanding of marketing principals in order to support resellers running effective campaigns
  • Understand how to write and work to a business plan in order to ensure continual growth and success
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Maintain a clean driving license and be able to travel and work throughout the UK
  • Be a team player and contribute towards the overall success of the business
  • Be able to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
